Our History

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Our family's winemaking history dates back to the 17th century, during the reign of Louis XIV. At that time, our ancestor, the tenth in our line of winemakers, devoted his life to growing vines. This passion and expertise has been passed down through the generations ever since, with our family remaining deeply rooted in Bergères, in the heart of the Côte des Bar region of Champagne.

THE BIRTH
OF OUR ESTATE

It was in the 19th century that Séverin Rigollot became the first owner of the family vineyards. His son, Charles Rigollot, made the estate renowned thanks to the exceptional quality of its wines, which were in high demand from the major Champagne houses.

Champagne Claude Rigollot

Under the leadership of Claude Rigollot in the 1970s, the estate expanded and took a decisive step forward with the creation of the 'Champagne Claude Rigollot' brand.

A New Chapter

A new chapter began in 2009 with the arrival of Emmanuel Rigollot. He continues the family legacy, bringing with him a modern and committed vision. He renamed the business 'Champagne E. Rigollot', symbolising a strong identity and a contemporary approach, while remaining true to the founding principles.

To mark this occasion, a new logo was created that evokes both the estate's tasting cellar and the cadole, the traditional shelter of Aube winegrowers, representing a connection between tradition and modernity.
